Position:

Full Time Installation Technician

Location:

90% of travel is in the greater Boston area with some travel required to other parts of Massachusetts/New England

Job Description:

The Installation Technician is responsible for the installation of video surveillance, card access and alarm systems. The Installation Technician is responsible for the complete life cycle of the installation including reviewing the scope of work and bill of materials, meeting with the client, performing the installation, and finalizing the installation.

Responsibilities:

• Review of new installations to insure proper equipment and material before ordering process begins
• Installation of new systems including installation of cable, conduit and equipment. Programing new system components and training the client. This could be independently or with other team members and subcontractors
• Effectively communicates with A2 Systems manager when closing out a new installation to ensure a smooth transition from installation to service including warranty tracking information
• Participates in technical training classes (travel may be required)
• Meets or exceeds customer’s expectations, provides exemplary customer service, and is willing to “go above and beyond” with a “whatever it takes” attitude
• Participates in Continual Improvement Process by always looking for ways and making suggestions on how to improve efficiency

 

Qualifications:

• Massachusetts Class D low voltage license or Massachusetts Class B Journeyman license
• 3+ years commercial security systems experience
• Strong work ethic and desire to not be micromanaged
• Technical knowledge of security systems components, design, and topology including access control, video surveillance, intercom, intrusion, alarm, and LAN/WAN.
• Proficient with computers, network infrastructure, and Microsoft Office products
• Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Valid driver license, and a satisfactory (MVR) Motor Vehicle Report
• Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening and CORI background check
